Laha'ole means; rare, choice, unique. Born and raised on the island of Oʻahu, Native Hawaiian Owner and Designer Tanya Uyehara has always enjoyed creating. Born into a family of craftsmen and women, musicians, hula dancers, and artist she has always been surrounded by natural beauty and the arts.
Established in 2013, Laha'ole Designs started while owner and designer, Tanya Uyehara was on maternity leave with her forth child. Wanting to create Christmas gifts fro her nieces, Tanya took a class at local jewelry store to learn how to solder metal. From there, she experimented with wire wrapping and manipulating metals to shape to shapes she dreamt.
Realizing there are many jewelry makers and designers, she wanted to stand out and create pieces that were unique, meaningful, and share her Native Hawaiian culture. From point forward Tanya, created with heart and meaning dedicating her creations to people she loved and the things of Hawai'i she treasures. Pieces that bring light to native Hawaiian flowers and things that share stories passed down through generation, and create an appreciation and awareness to the beauty of Hawai'i.
