About The Artist
Dee Oliva was born and raised in Hawaii on the island of Oahu. She received her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Ceramics at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, focusing on creating functional ceramic ware and sculpture used as a canvas for painting. Since graduation, her repertoire now includes 2D painting, fiber art, and mix media art. Her work has appeared on Hawaii musicians’ album covers, in publications such as Flux, Honolulu Magazine, and Hawai’i Home Magazine, and in businesses such as Mori Hawaii, Paiko Hawaii, The Public Pet and Urban Outfitters. Dee is now an art educator for youth in Hawaii. Both her teaching and creations reflect a childhood spent reading comic books, a love of nature’s creatures and scenes, and a deep love for everything cats.
