About the Artist
Abigail Marie Ellazar is a fiber artist and the maker behind Knits and Knots by AME (KKAME). Her love for fiber arts began with amigurumi (the art of crocheting or knitting stuffed animals/dolls) where she loved to make endless possibilities representing everyday life. The benchmark behind KKAME is the radiant sunflower which is deeply rooted in her career as a mental health therapist and personal life symbolizing growth, hope, and possibilities.
Today, Abigail continues to make amigurumi home décor that reflect island living however spends most of her time designing crochet and knitwear patterns. Her designs focus on functionality and encourage people to wear often and be proud of handmade garments. Along her journey of garment design, Abigail became a designer for Lion Brand Yarn and works collaboratively with the company to create knit and crochet kits with her designs. She encourages others to learn the art of crochet and knitting to keep this heirloom art alive by constructing easy to follow patterns, tutorials, and helping all who come her way.
