Hello, my name is Alyssa Lau. I am a visual artist and barista based in Honolulu, Hawaii. My work features a wide variety of mediums across multiple disciplines with a background in Digital Design. When I am not working in a coffee shop, I am making art in my living room accompanied by my cute cat, Spuds. The soft, pastel nature of my art is influenced heavily by the whimsical and romantic worlds created by modern fantasy writers like Haruki Murakami, animators like Hayao Miyazaki, and filmmakers like Wes Anderson. My art is a look into the world of my daydreams. A world of found objects, antiquated materials, and a romanticism of life’s experiences seen through sleepy eyes and youthful innocence."
